Supply the Settler Game
Supply the Settler Game Directions
Number of Players - Three or more
Before the game begins, look at the catalog of objects and read the descriptions.
Rules:
Deal out an equal number of cards to each player.
Spread out cards in front of you so everyone can see them.
Player to left of dealer starts the game by spinning the top in the box cover.
When the top stops spinning read the name of the article on which the point of the top is resting.
If the top points to the "anything" space, you may put any object you choose onto the settler's property.
Look at your pictures. If you have the article, put it into the box bottom (the property).
If you don't see the article in your cards, ask the other players for it. Anyone who has it must give it to you. If another player has two pictures of the thing you ask for he/she gives you only one. You must put the picture you get in your set until another turn.
If no one has the picture, spin again.
Penalty - If you ask for a picture when you really have it, every other player will give you a card with a picture of an object they choose.
If a player doesn't see that he or she has a picture called for by another player he/she also receives a penalty card from each player.
How to Win:
To win the game you must not only supply the settler with the cards you got at the beginning but you must also keep from getting more cards as a result of penalties.
Variations:
Use a spinner with objects written on it instead of a top. Make the game more interesting by having each player tell one fact about each article that is placed on the property. Tell how it is used or what we use today to take its place.
If a player cannot give a fact he or she must keep the card until another turn and try to learn about it by reading the description in the catalog.
