Bench 8 at Kuse Nature Preserve

The forest closes in on the trail. Note the battle between Red Maple trees and the invasive Glossy Buckthorn plants.

In this moist area, moss and mushrooms thrive. Note the broad-leafed Sensitive Ferns. Yellow flowering Moneywort plants trail along the edges. Reed Canary Grass sometimes arches across the path. There may be examples of Canada Goldenrod, Whorled Loosestrife and Common Milkweed.
