Painted Turtle
Chrysemys picta
Painted Turtles live in the pond and the nearby areas. One has been seen digging a hole in soil near the pond to lay eggs. Several of them sometimes sun themselves together on rocks and logs that stick out above the water surface. Sunning helps turtles to warm themselves, maintain their shell and digest their food.
